Message From The President

Greetings Everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather these days. It is so nice to see that even during the summertime, we are continuing to grow our membership numbers and make substantial progress on our initiatives.

This summer, we are rolling out our new Jumpstart Mentorship Program, as well as our Partnership with NYU. See details below for both of these exciting new initiatives.

Also, don't miss our next meeting as we’ll have the honor to hear from Stephen A. Hart host of TrailblazersFM, who will be educating our members on how to improve their personal brand. Joseph Perry will give our members an in-depth look into the evolution of the most destructive cyber threat of today, Ransomware. See details below.

As with all our meetings, newcomers and students can join our meetings for free.

Hope you can join us next month!

New Initiatives

Jumpstart Mentorship Program (JuMP)

We have over 20 members joining our new mentorship program, JuMP this month!

Just to show how successful a mentorship program can be to both the mentor and the mentee, we wanted to share some recent feedback we received from members who participated in our informal One on One mentorship program:

Tanaisha Myrick (Mentee):

"Being granted the opportunity to be be mentored from a professional within the field of CyberSecurity has been a very rewarding experience. Over the past few months, my mentor, has been an important component to my professional and personal growth. Through her years of professional experiences and expertise I have gained insight into . She has helped me develop my soft skills by offering valuable advice, guidance and feedback. She has furthermore supported me in navigating my transition into an internship in Information Security while exposing me to different ideas and resources I could use to enhance my learning experiences. Overall, she has been a positive representation of women in tech and an amazing role model."

Hasjohn Simmons (Mentor):

“The opportunity to mentorship provides tremendous emotional value for mentors, and uplift for participants in pursuit of their goals.”

Thomas Hunt (Mentee):

“My mentorship has taken my journey as a fresh cyber security professional to the next level. I am grateful to (ISC)² NJ for the opportunity and to my mentor for his continued wisdom and knowledge.”

While we won't be taking new mentors/mentees for this current 10 weeks program, we'll post information shortly on when we will be starting up our next mentorship program.
