Our goal is to provide the cybersecurity community with monthly New Jersey Chapter news, upcoming events and initiatives, and timely and relevant articles from our dedicated member volunteers.

Message from the President

As we thaw out from winter, we are moving at full speed with our spring activities this year! We have six events scheduled for just for this season (so far)!

As far as our upcoming conference, we started planning for it way in advance this year and it is shaping up to be our best one yet! To learn more about it, check out our SECON conference section below.

Another nice recent development is that students from across NJ/NY are starting to find out about us, due to our various outreach programs.

Hope to meet many of you at one of our upcoming events!

New Initiatives

Chapter Scholarships!

This year, we will start giving out scholarships to those in financial need and meet our eligibility criteria.

While we are still working out the details for our scholarship program, eligible receipts would receive either a free (ISC)² exam fee and/or a voucher to pay for the first year of your Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) towards (ISC)²'s new "Certified in Cybersecurity" certification. (A $50 savings.)

If you would like to apply for a scholarship and are an (ISC)² New Jersey Chapter member in good standing, please fill out this form.

Elder Fraud Outreach Program

We are launching our Elder Fraud Outreach Program with InfraGard NJ and we are looking for volunteers to visit senior centers to educate one of our most vulnerability members of our society.

Networking Happy Hour 2023

Date: Tuesday, April 11th, 2023
Time: 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Community Service Day 2023

We are having our Community Service Day for April, 2023 at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.

This event is now at full capacity. Thank you all for those that have registered. Due to its popularity, we are considering to hold this event again towards the end of the year.

SECON New Jersey 2023

Please join the (ISC)² New Jersey Chapter for their annual conference, SECON New Jersey 2023 to be held at Kean University in Union, NJ on June 1, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Virtual option is also available, but onsite is highly encouraged. Please note that this event is accessible via train.

Note: The (ISC)² New Jersey Chapter’s annual dues are $75, so you can become a member and only pay $75 to attend the conference. (No (ISC)² certification is necessary to join our chapter.)

CPEs: (ISC)² certification holders will earn 7 CPE credits for attending either conference.

Current Initiatives

JuMPstart Mentorship Program (JuMP)

We are excited to announce that our new session will begin on June 1st. We are looking for mentors and mentees to join us in this journey. If you are interested in becoming a mentor or mentee, please fill out this form.

We ask for a 5 month commitment to 2-3 hours per month to be a mentor or mentee. We have the ability to exclude a month to suit your schedule, please note it on the form. We randomly link mentors and mentees together with some guides on how best to connect with volunteer members guiding the engagement direction as well.

NYU and (ISC)² New Jersey Chapter

The (ISC)² New Jersey Chapter and the New York University Tandon School of Engineering have formed a partnership to further educational and credentialing opportunities for students and the cybersecurity community.

In addition to participating in NYU Tandon events, lectures, career fairs, and other professional development activities, (ISC)² will offer students a full membership completely free giving them access to a network of local industry leaders. As part of the agreement, (ISC)² members can sign up for The NYU Center for Cybersecurity (CCS) mailing list to stay current with research and events featuring leading faculty and industry partners at www.cyber.nyu.edu.
